Our Sunday Solos series continues this week with a set by innovative interdisciplinary artist and musician Michael Zerang. For this solo performance, Michael will premiere a 42-minute work for piano and vibrating elements entitled “Tarot Mice.”
Michael Zerang was born in Chicago and is a musician, composer and producer, focusing extensively on improvised music, free jazz, contemporary composition, puppet theater, experimental theater and international musical forms. He is a member of the Peter Brötzmann Chicago Tentet, Survival Unit III with Joe McPhee and Fred Lonberg-Holm, and the al Maslakh Ensemble. He has toured nationally and internationally since 1981 with and ever-widening pool of collaborators.
