We need your help to continue…
2012 has been an amazing year at Experimental Sound Studio: we've hosted dozens of performances and special events, from Outer Ear to SummerSonic to Drone for the End of Time and the amazing showing of community spirit at the benefit for Frank Rosaly. Audible Gallery saw a number of stunning exhibitions grace its walls, including the bells of Ethan Rose's haunting Reflection and Joseph Clayton Mills' Kafka-inspired works on paper. The Creative Audio Archive conducted a resoundingly successful Kickstarter campaign to transfer and preserve the Malachi Ritscher collection. We made our presence known outside the studio with our long-running Florasonic sound-installation series at Lincoln Park Conservatory, and various talks and panel discussions around the city. We invited you to get in on the action with another set of Getting Bent workshops, an amazing two-day voice and movement workshop with Jaap Blonk and Jonathan Meyer, as well as a diverse set of projects incubated at ESS by the artists selected for our Artist Residency Program. And YOU brought a myriad of recording and film projects to the studio, which saw major upgrades to its hardware and software this year.
We've got big things in store for 2013, including bolstered outreach initiatives, an enhanced membership program, a promising set of Outer Ear performances, and a partnership with Umbrella Music and French musicians' collective The Bridge for a series of performances and education programs on both sides of the Atlantic. We can't do it without your support!
